Pace University and Hitachi America, Ltd. Co-Sponsor Free Education Program For Westchester Nonprofit Organizations on March 25, 2010

- -Capacity-building forum offered to help nonprofits in turbulent economy - -

(Tarrytown, NY) March 10, 2010 – Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT/TSE: 6501) located in Tarrytown, NY and Pace University’s Wilson Center for Social Entrepreneurship are co-sponsoring a free, full-morning education program aimed at sharing expertise and best practices with professionals from the county’s nonprofit organizations.

The program, “Philanthropy in the New Decade” will take place at Pace University’s campus in White Plains, NY and will run from 8:30 am – 11:30 am on Thursday, March 25, 2010. The campus is located at 1 Martine Avenue.

The program is free, but advance registration is required and seating is limited. Attendance is limited to members of nonprofit organizations. Registration can be done on line at: http://www.hitachi-america.us/about/community_relations/events_conferences/index.html.

The goal of the forum is to offer nonprofit leaders content-rich sessions that provide actionable steps to help their organizations weather today’s difficult economic climate. This is the second year that Hitachi America, Ltd. has spearheaded this program and the first year that Pace University’s Wilson Center for Social Entrepreneurship is serving as a co-sponsor.

The Wilson Center for Social Entrepreneurship was created in 2005 to serve the nonprofit community and Pace University. The Center provides scholarly research, academic programs, advisory services and roundtable discussions to encourage excellence and enhance managerial leadership skills of professionals within the nonprofit sector. “Given the Wilson Center’s mission and interest in providing education for those who work in nonprofit organizations, it is a pleasure for us to co-sponsor this program with Hitachi America,” said Rebecca Tekula, PhD, Executive Director, Wilson Center.
