Drive Programming
Inverter configuration software is available for download at no charge using the link below. You are free to download, copy and install the software as you please. However a special cable is required to connect your PC to a Hitachi inverter. This cable incorporates an electronic signal conversion (USB to RS422) module. The Hitachi cable part number is “USB-CONVERTERCABLE”, and is available through your Hitachi Inverter distributor. Please note - this cable is compatible with the L100, SJ100, L200, SJ200, X200, L300P, SJ300, and SJ700 inverter families. For the J100 and J300 inverter families, an additional converter (Part Number "CONNECTOR RJ45") is required.
It is necessary to install a driver to use this cable. The driver is a free download and can be accessed via the link below. This latest version is compatible with Windows® 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/VISTA.
ProDrive is the latest configuration software available for Hitachi inverters. It should be used with all current inverter series. It is compatible with the following series:
Note: The L300P-SLM series is NOT supported by ProDrive.
To download ProDrive drive configuration software or the USB-CONVERTERCABLE driver, please click on the appropriate link below. This will start the download of a zip file containing the installation program. The file extension of that installation program file has been changed to ".ex_" to allow it to pass through firewalls. First, extract the file, and then change the file extension to ".exe" so you can run the installation program in the usual way.
Note: If you cannot see the file extension, you will not be able to rename the file extension. You may need to change your settings in Windows that control visibility of file extensions. For Microsoft Windows XP®, in My Computer, click on the Tools menu, then Folder Options… Then select the View tab. Uncheck the box for “Hide file extensions for known file types” and click OK. You should now be able to see and rename the file as .exe as explained above. For other operating systems, consult your help documentation.
ProDrive US Inverter Support
The following update adds the support of all US model families of Hitachi Inverter to your Version 1.8.8.1 ProDrive installation. Install ProDrive 1.8.8.1 from the above link first. Then download and install this update. The link will download a zip file. Simply unzip the files it contains to your main ProDrive program folder, which also contains the prodrive.exe file. Then when you start ProDrive, be sure to select the support for US inverters in the ProDrive Setting window.
USB-CONVERTERCABLE DRIVER
In order to connect your Windows-based PC to a Hitachi inverter using the USB-CONVERTERCABLE, a driver must first be installed on your PC. Please download the file below, and run the setup program to install the driver. IMPORTANT! DO NOT connect the cable to your computer BEFORE installing the driver!
EzSQ – Easy Sequence
The EzSQ, or Easy Sequence Programming software allows for PLC-like programmability in the SJ700 series of inverters. The powerful programming language is similar to “C”, but has hardware-specific commands and functions pertinent to drives. The download below contains the install files and a detailed manual that is accessed from the program’s Help menu. Once installed, you can create programs off-line, then attach a programming cable (USB-CONVERTERCABLE for SJ700) and download your program into the drive. This is a separate process from drive parameter configuration using ProDrive.
Installation instructions: Download the zip file by clicking the link below. Then use a zip extraction utility and place the contents in C:\ on your hard drive. Once extracted, go into the folder “EzSQ_ver1.2.2”, and you will see a file “setup.exe” or “setup”. Double-click on it to begin the installation, and follow the on-screen instructions from there.
