Hitachi created a contact-less finger vein authentication device that scans the unique pattern in a finger. The finger vein pattern is used as an identifier for enrollment and verification and cannot be forged. This method of scanning the finger using near infrared light delivers faster scanning results than other biometric devices currently on the market. The module was designed to provide integrators and OEM’s the ability to customize their own authentication solution.
