Product Description

Hitachi created a contact-less finger vein authentication device that scans the unique pattern in a finger. The finger vein pattern is used as an identifier for enrollment and verification and cannot be forged. This method of scanning the finger using near infrared light delivers faster scanning results than other biometric devices currently on the market. The module was designed to provide integrators and OEM’s the ability to customize their own authentication solution.

Highlights

  • Standalone Module does not need to be attached to a network
  • Combination of small size, high accuracy/high speed for enrollment and verification and internal authentication is unsurpassed in the biometric reader market
  • Impossible to forge finger vein pattern
  • Stores 1,000 records using Flash Rom
  • Near infrared light transmitted through the finger is absorbed partially by the hemoglobin in the vein to display the pattern unique to the individual
  • The vein pattern is captured by camera, compressed and digitized as a record or template using Hitachi Special LSI for Finger Vein Module
  • Detection time less than two seconds
