Hitachi Awards Winners of the Ultimate Fantasy Football Contest— “Rush For 2000 Yards”

-- Contestants Predicted Yardage During Pro Football Season Hoping to Win Big --

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, January 31, 2008 — Hitachi America, Ltd. partnered with Athlon Sports to bring consumers the “Rush for 2000 Yards” online fantasy football contest, a promotion that began in July 2007 and ran through the end of the professional football season. The contest has drawn to a close, awarding Brandon Vandorn of Owasso, Oklahoma, the Grand Prize, a trip for two to Honolulu, Hawaii February 8 – 12, 2008 where some of his favorite pro football players will be in action.

“Rush for 2000 Yards” (www.rushfor2000yards.com) challenged contestants to select a running back from a professional football team each week to be their designated “rusher” and predict his yards and number of rushing attempts. Weekly and Grand Prize winners were determined based on participants’ aptitude at predicting each week’s top performing running backs and the player’s actual yards gained.

“We are very excited to have so many participants compete in ‘Rush for 2000 Yards.’ They were able to keep up with their favorite running backs while competing for some great Hitachi prizes,” said Daniel Lee, vice president of marketing for Hitachi America, Ltd., Ubiquitous Platform Systems Division.

Runner-up prizes included an 80G mp3 player, Best Buy™ gift certificates, autographed professional football mini-helmets, and a pro football team hat of choice. Additionally, four winners were chosen at random to receive either a Hitachi hybrid camcorder or plasma TV.

Hitachi is very pleased with the results from the second annual “Rush for 2000 Yards” contest and hopes to continue the momentum into next season.
