Hitachi Home Electronics (America), Inc. Appoints New President
-- Kenji Nakamura, a 27-Year Hitachi Veteran, Named to Take Over New Role --
Chula Vista, CA, March 13, 2008 — Hitachi Home Electronics America (HHEA), formerly known as Hitachi Ubiquitous Platform Systems Group, announced the appointment of Kenji Nakamura to the position of president, as of April 1, 2008.
Mr. Nakamura succeeds Mr. Kazuhiro Kaizaki, who will return to Japan to a play a key leadership role for worldwide product development for the company's sleek and stylish new line of UltraThin displays, sold in the U.S. under the “UltraThin 1.5” brand due to their 1.5-inch thin depth.
Most recently, Mr. Nakamura served as executive vice president and general manager of the Ubiquitous Platform Systems Division of Hitachi America, Ltd., headquartered in Chula Vista, CA. In the past twenty-seven years, he has served in a variety of product development, sales and managerial roles with Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT) and other Hitachi group companies.
