Reginald Bland and John Busse to Join Hitachi America, Ltd.’s Ubiquitous Platform Systems Division
SAN DIEGO – May 14, 2007 – Hitachi America, Ltd. announced today that Reginald Bland and John Busse have joined the company’s Ubiquitous Platform Systems Division, which focuses on providing advanced digital products to businesses and consumers. Appointed as Region Sales Managers, Mr. Bland will manage Hitachi’s sales in the Pacific Southwest and Mr. Busse in the Pacific Northwest territories.
Mr. Bland has more than 20 years experience in strategic marketing, tactical sales and key account management. He most recently served as director of sales for Los Angeles-based GPX Inc. where he was responsible for sales and marketing for the Western United States and managing a team of independent sales representatives. Prior to GPX, Mr. Bland was a consumer electronics specialist for DSI Distributing where he led sales efforts for Southern California, Nevada and Arizona. Mr. Bland spent 25 years at Thomson Consumer Electronics, Inc., starting off as an area sales manager, working his way up to regional sales manager. During his time with Thomson, Mr. Bland received numerous award including Management Winners Circle and Salesman of the Year. He began his career at NCR Corporation as a sales representative.
Mr. Busse brings more than 18 years of expertise to Hitachi in wholesale management. He previously worked as a national account manager and a key account manager for Thomson Inc. where he focused on clients such as Costco, Fry’s Electronics, Fred Meyer, Amazon.com, Video Only, Magnolia A/V and The Bon Marche. During his time with Thomson, Mr. Busse was responsible for strategic marketing and sales, sales forecasting, inventory control, and project planning and implementation. He received several awards for his work for the company, including Corporate Recognition for Sales Performance. Prior to Thomson, Mr. Busse worked for Allied Stores, Inc. – The Bon Marche where he started as an assistant buyer and worked his way up to a buyer for consumer electronics.
