Hitachi Brings Consumers the Ultimate Fantasy Football Contest - ‘Rush For 2000 Yards’

SAN DIEGO – July 20, 2007 – Hitachi America, Ltd. announced today that it has partnered with Athlon Sports to bring consumers the ‘Rush for 2000 yards’ online fantasy football contest, a promotion beginning in July and running through the end of the professional football season. This unique venture allows participants to be involved in a different type of fantasy football – one that only involves predicting the number of yards a chosen running back will run each game.

‘Rush for 2000 yards’ (www.rushfor2000yards.com.) will allow participants to choose one running back from a professional football team each week and predict his yards throughout the 17-week season. Players will receive weekly emails detailing the results from each round of play as well as a fantasy newsletter. Winners will be chosen based on how closely their predictions meet the player’s actual number of yards each week.

“We’re thrilled to offer consumers the opportunity to play “Rush for 2000 Yards” – they will be able to keep up with their favorite running backs while getting the opportunity to win great prizes such as football memorabilia, Hitachi products and trips,” says Daniel Lee, vice president of marketing for Hitachi.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for two to Honolulu, Hawaii for a chance to see professional football in action, and weekly winners will receive an official team jersey of his/her choice. Each week, the runners-up will receive an autographed mini-helmet, while second place winners will receive a team hat of his/her choice. Prizes also include a Hitachi flat screen television and camcorder. Pre-registration began July 20, and the promotion will run from July-December 2007, spanning the pro football season.
