50" Full HD1080 Ultravision® Plasma HDTV
Hitachi Full HD1080 products are a perfect pixel-for-pixel match to the dominant high definition signal in the marketplace today. The P50S601 Ultravision® Plasma HDTV utilizes the Full HD1080 resolution standard (1920 x 1080) and has extremely sharp detail with over 2.1 million individual picture elements. Hitachi's patented ClearWindow™ design creates brighter images by eliminating any visible grid structure on the panel.
The PictureMaster™ HD IV video processor found in the P50S601 upgrades all incoming signal to match the Full HD1080 panel and ensures outstanding picture quality regardless of input type or resolution format.
The Highest quality connection with home A/V devices is delivered with 3-SimplayHD™ HDMI video inputs. These HDMI inputs are 1080p compatible and include high definition video and audio in a single cable connection.
Included with the P50S601 is a power swivel stand which allows users to use the remote control to swivel the TV 30 degrees either direction for optimum viewing in any part of a room. Another step-up feature is the addition of a unique black stripe screen filter which blocks ambient room light and allows the maximum brightness and clarity for any environment.
2.07 million pixel array perfectly matches the 1080i HDTV resolution standard (1920 x 1080 panel resolution).

Automatic 3:2 Film Enhancement
Film is composed of 24 individual frames per second, while TV's display 60 frames per second. This inconsistency of frame rates necessitates film to be converted to video using a technique called 3:2 pulldown. Hitachi’s PictureMaster HD-IV processor uses 3:2 pulldown correction and film enhancement to reconstruct the original film frame to achieve the highest resolution possible. The resulting high definition frame is perfectly matched to the resolution of the display.
4 HD / 6 SD Aspect Modes
Not all of today’s available viewing content is available in the true 16:9 widescreen format.
