If the ALIS Panel is the canvas, the Picture Master Full HD is the brush. Our exclusively developed HD graphics engine works behind the scenes to make the dazzling HD images on Hitachi plasma TVs possible.
The Picture Master Full HD employs 3 advanced techniques: colour, contrast and clarity controls. The Picture Master Full HD also selects colours for greater richness and variety. The skies on your screen are as blue as the ones outside, the clouds as white and the flowers as vibrant as they are in real life. Incredible contrast brings out details and colors to make your full HD viewing experience unforgettable.
Think of the moving picture on your TV screen as a series of still images, or frames. Movies that were filmed at 24 frames per second have to be converted to 60 frames per second to be aired on TV. Conventional conversion methods simply duplicate or triplicate the existing frames to make up the time length difference, a method called 3-2 pulldown (for NTSC system). In 3-2 scene sequences, a slight jitter may appear when objects move on screen.
Hitachi’s Movie FRC (Frame Rate Converter) technology analyzes the existing frames and actually supplements them with newly created frames. The result is a more linear sequence of images and smoother movements than the conventional TV has ever accomplished for viewing movies, with the absolute minimum stuttering or jerkiness. Just as the ALIS panel fills in the gaps of screen resolution, movie frame rate converter fills in the gaps between frames.
A Full HDTV can be a Plasma or LCD TV with a full wide-screen aspect ratio and a panel resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
For best visual experience, the optimal viewing distance is about 3 times the screen height.
There are a few possibilities:
• To check if your remote control is working, you may do a simple test:
• Find a digital camera or a camera phone.
• Point your remote control infra sensor towards your digital camera or camera phone
(in camera mode).
If the camera screen has a red light flashing when you press the remote control button, the remote control is working.
• Please check if there’s any blockage in front of your TV.
• Please check if the remote control selection is on your desired devices mode
(e.g. TV mode for TV.)
HDMI is defined as High Definition Multimedia Interface.
HDMI able carry both video and audio in one cable with some added control elements. Hitachi uses HDMI version 1.3 and the specifications define maximum length of 2 metre only.
It is backward compatible. However, version 1.3 will not be working e.g. deep color.
Please avoid displaying of still images for a period of time at the same position.
You may use our ‘Screen Wipe’ function to reduce the burn-mark.
The screen surface is specially coated to reduce reflection and infra radiation. As such, only use a lint-free and dry cloth to clean. Do not use chemical cloth or a liquid cleaner.
Component cables connection can drive up to 1080i and you can adjust the color for better production.
Composite cables can only drive up to 480p and there’s no color adjustment except brightness.
Yes. You will require a RGB cable and the resolution is only up to XGA.
For notebook & laptop users, please ensure that you have toggled your external monitor to the full HDTV RGB port.
Please check the following:
• Antenna cable is plugged in.
• Volume is not muted on the remote control.
• If you are a cable subscriber, please check if your set-top box is working.
• If problem still persist, please call our 800 HITACHI.
DVI port only has a video output although HDMI can take both video and audio.
Please check with the service provider on the signal strength.
A full HDTV requires a 1920 or 1080p source for a sharp picture.
A standard DVD player can only play a 576p source.
A full HD movie/picture will need to have a 1920 x 1080 content on the movie or picture. Therefore, if the DVD CD only has 576p content, the picture will not be sharp.
This is known as a “dew” indicator. It means that there is moisture or condensation built up in the camcorder. Use the following steps to fix this problem:
• Remove the tape from the machine.
• Leave the tape door open and the power to the camcorder on.
• Let the camcorder sit for at least an hour at room temperature.
If that doesn’t work, try a different tape. If you still have this problem we suggest checking with one of our local authorized service facilities for further help. You can find your closest authorized service facility here!
Hitachi camcorders come with regular audio video (yellow, white, and red) output connection cables. These cables hook from your camcorder to an input connection on your VCR. Once you have connected these to your VCR then you will need to place your VCR on the “LINE” or “VIDEO” input stations. Please consult the owner’s manual of your VCR for steps on doing this.
We have numerous different types of camcorders ranging from VHS to Hi-8mm. It is important to make sure you are using the correct type of tape. Please consult your owner’s guide for the appropriate type of tape.

Two things are important when it comes to determining the life of your battery:
• First, is to realize that the length of time a battery lasts is determined by what you do with the camcorder. Each feature you use will shorten how long the battery lasts.
• Second, is how you charge your battery. Hitachi camcorders use different types of batteries ranging from Lead Acid, Nickel Cadmium, and Lithium Ion. Each of these batteries has different guidelines for how you charge them.
Please consult your owner’s guide to determine the best charging technique.
If you would like a copy of an owner's guide via US mail, click here!
Hitachi uses numerous types of batteries:
Lead-Acid - rechargeable
These batteries work the same as a car battery. They need to be fully charged when not in use.
Nickel-Cadmium- rechargeable
Until recently, most popular rechargeable battery; good performance; can be recharged hundreds of times. These batteries have memory problems; if you don’t discharge them fully, the battery remembers when you did recharge them and that’s the length of a charge you’ll then get! Due to this you have a “refresh” button that will finish discharging the battery before it begins charging.
Nickel-Metal Hydride- rechargeable
Cadmium-free replacement for Nickel-Cadmium; good performance; can be recharged hundreds of times.
Lithium- rechargeable
The most popular battery in use today, highest energy; good performance; can be recharged hundreds of times.

Or for an owner's guide via US mail, click here!
There are numerous reasons why your closed captioning might not be working. The two most common reasons are listed below:
- You have your television hooked up with Component, DVI, or HDMI connection. Currently the closed captioning signal will not pass through these connections.
If you turn the closed captioning on in your cable/satellite box, you will be able to utilize this feature.- The station you are watching is currently not broadcasting a closed captioning signal. Check different stations, you might need to contact the station to see why it is not being broadcasted.
These connections working is dependant on the type of input being used to the TV. If you are using component, DVI, or a HDMI connection the “monitor output” and “audio to Hi-Fi” jacks will function abnormally or might not function at all.
This is normal. The only time you will get Dolby Digital 5.1 sound is if you are watching the television using the digital tuner. This means if you are using a cable box, satellite box, DVD player etc. you will not get Dolby Digital sound. You will only receive Dolby Digital sound with a digital channel on the TV’s digital tuner.
There are many different connection options on our DVD product. In most instances we suggest connecting the product with the cables that will give you the best picture/sound quality. To see specific connection diagrams use the owner's guide.

If your TV only has the coaxial connection on the back you would need to obtain an RF modulator. These can be purchased at any local electronic store. They give you the ability to connect composite video cables to a TV with only a coaxial connection.
We have step by step instructions in the owner's guide for setting up a recording.
